One of the most important things I can do as a physician is to take to the time to educate patients on their disease. With knowledge of the disease process and treatments, patients can feel empowered to make the best decisions for their health and well-being.

Dr. Hum was drawn to the field of gastroenterology because she is interested in how the gut, liver, and pancreas work together to help nourish our bodies.

Dr. Hum enjoys helping patients improve their quality of life and finds it rewarding when a patient feels an improvement in their symptoms. She is also passionate about how patients can benefit from the latest technological advancement in treating gastroenterological diseases, including screening colonoscopies and the removal of polyps to prevent cancer.

Outside of work, Dr. Hum likes to cook and spend time outdoors doing landscape photography with her husband and dog.
