Karl Kim MD

Karl Kim MD

“I like to form care plans with my patients that are not only based in evidence but also take into account the patient’s values and lived experiences, and is something that is doable for them.”

Dr. Kim chose to specialize in gastroenterology because he enjoys the breadth of experience it offers including the wide scope of the gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary systems. As a gastroenterologist, he appreciates seeing patients in both the ambulatory and acute inpatient setting, the ability to perform procedural interventions, and establishing long-term relationships with patients with chronic conditions.

Dr. Kim enjoys living in Portland because of the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, including the proximity to mountains and waterways for endless recreational opportunities.

Outside of work, you can find him spending time with his family (trying to keep up with their young son), traveling, reading, skiing, and playing with their dog.
