Nima Motamedi MD

“I believe patient education serves as the foundation of patient-doctor relationships. It allows me to build relationships and provide high quality care through shared decision making, integrating my patients’ values and preferences.”

Dr. Motamedi chose gastroenterology because he saw the impact he could have in preventing serious illnesses like cancer and treating chronic illnesses like inflammatory bowel disease and cirrhosis. The field allows him to work with his hands to fix urgent problems like ulcer bleeds and to foster long-term relationships with patients.

As a lifelong Portland resident, Dr. Motamedi enjoys living here because of the friendly, family-oriented people who give it a special atmosphere and have cultivated a culture that emphasizes fun activities and good food. In his free time, Dr. Motamedi likes spending time with his family, playing and watching basketball, hiking, swimming and anything that involves water.
