“For many of my patients, by the time they come to me they’re already struggling in some way so I want to get them back to a place where they can choose the life that they want to live.”

Dr. Yau has a background in pulmonology and also specializes in lung disease and sleep-disordered breathing. He completed two separate fellowships in pulmonary/critical care and sleep medicine at Rush University Medical Center and Oregon Health & Science University, respectively. Because Dr. Yau has training in both fields, he has a well-rounded perspective on breathing-related health issues as well as sleep disorders.

Dr. Yau is passionate about learning new things, and medicine always affords him that opportunity. He enjoys reading and studying about medicine and putting that knowledge into practice to help those with health problems feel better.

Outside of work, Dr. Yau likes to stay active outdoors and also travel to new areas when he has the time.
